The present book projects the Medicinal botany of wild plants of various habitats. This book is a reference manual with a summarized exclusive and comprehensive information which will add to our knowledge about common medicinal plants. Systematic medical enumeration of individual wild plant species along with common name, habit, family and diagnostic features have been provided. 

Traditional knowledge of medicinal plants including ethnobotany, sacred groves, medico-magico believes, ethnomedicine and phytochemistry have also been described. An effort has been made to provide suitable information regarding medicinal significance of many taxa. Coloured photographs showing the medicinal plants and habitats have been provided at the end of book. The aims and objectives of the book is to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date current account of the medicinal plants for the benefit of students, teachers, research scholars and interested persons.


Dr. Sharma OP

Dr. Om Prakash Sharma M.Sc., Ph.D., FAPS is a Professor of Botany, working as HOD in Post Graduate Department of Botany, Government College Bundi, Rajasthan. He has a teaching experience of 33 years in different Government Colleges of Rajasthan. He has completed his Ph. D. in 2000 in Ecological and Phytogeographical studies.
Dr. Om Prakash Sharma has published 101 research papers in National and International peer reviewed journals. He has presented and participated more than 50 National, International seminar and conferences. He has guided three Ph. D. students. He has been the Principal Investigator of two research projects funded by UGC. He has contributed 11 chapters to different edited books and 3 own books have been published.
He received silver Jubilee award 2016 by Academy of Plant Science India. This academy has awarded honorary fellowship (FAPS) on him for his sincere efforts in the promotion of research in various fields of Botany, especially in Angiosperms taxonomy. He also received Social Innovative ESW International Awards 2023 by Environment & Social Welfare Society Khajuraho, India.
He has worked as convenor of National conference and National webinar and Program officer of Gyan Ganga programme organised by department of Botany, Government College Bundi, Rajasthan. He has also worked as member of Board of Studies in Botany at University of Kota and Jai Minesh Adivasi University, Kota. He is life member of Indian Botanical Society. His field of research is Angiosperm taxonomy, ethnobotany, ecology, cryptogamic botany and biochemistry.
