Fusarium Diseases In Plants: Pathogenomics And Management NEW
Fusarium is one of the important plant
pathogen cause wilt disease in plants. Due to complex in nature it is very
difficult to manage.
The objectives of this book is tried to
include the important diseases of Fusarium on Agricultural (Field
crops-Cereals/Pulses)/ Horticultural crops (Vegetable/Fruit/Flower/Bulb
crops/Plantation crops). This book will help to the undergraduate as well as post
graduate students to understand on different aspects of the Fusarium wilt.
There are continuous advances day by day in
the field of Biology. This book will provide the planform for the students as
well as researchers related to Fusarium diseases. The chapters include history
of Fusarium, almost all the important Fusarium diseases description,
epidemiology and management strategies. This Book also included some chapters
on the Breeding strategies for the improvement of the crops against Fusarium. In
one chapter of this book, try to find out the toxins in relation to Fusarium.
There is also inclusion of chapter on the probable disease management
strategies by the non-pathogenic Fusarium against disease causing Fusarium.ÂÂ
Dr. Bireswar Sinha
Dr. Bireswar Sinha, is an Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in Plant Pathology at Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University in Imphal, India. He has completed BSc (Ag) from Central Agricultural University, Imphal and MSc(Ag), PhD in Plant Pathology from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, West Bengal. Dr. Sinha’s main research is focused on microbial resources for the management of the Soil Borne Plant diseases/ insect pest and also on the PSB, endophytes, PGPR related trains in plant for sustainable Agriculture. He has more than 11 years of teaching, research and extension activities. He has submitted more than 150 numbers of beneficial microbes including Trichoderma to NCBI database. He has guided or guiding more than 18 numbers of MSc(Ag)-16 and PhD-2 students in Plant Pathology and more than 30 numbers of students as advisory committee. He had experience on handling of various Institutional (CAU funded) and National Research Project funded by ICAR, DBT, DST, Govt., of India. Dr Sinha also completed as Supervisor /Mentor of Research Associate of DBT, National Post Doc fellowship(NPDF) of SERB, and Women Scientist(B) of DST, Govt., of India. He has completed one MOOC online course under SWAYAM, Govt., of India on Diseases of Horticultural Crops and their management. He served as reviewer of reputed Journals. He has published several research papers, Newspaper article/Compendium/ Souvenir Conference Proceedings/ Research bulletins/extension bulletins /Farm Magazine/ book chapters and teaching manuals. He has been attended several National and International Seminars/Conference/ Workshops. He is associated with many scientific societies Life Members such as India Society of Plant Pathologists, Indian Phytopahological Society, and Plant Protection Association of India. Dr Sinha’s is also associated with the Institutional guidance for the students to JRF and SRF. In the year 2019, Dr Sinha’s has conferred 1st Best Teacher Award, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur.
