This book is intended for students of agriculture studying in different institutions in India. It would also be useful for scientists, extension workers to help to understand the fundamentals of agronomy to enhance productivity for livelihood security of farmers. It is equally urgent to agricultural scientists dealing with crops, regional planners and extension workers. Thus, an attempt has been made to provide such a perspective to all stakeholders, students, scientists and planners.
